High Temperature Polyimide Tape: Uses and Applications

High temperature polyimide tape, also known as gold finger tape, is widely used in PCB manufacturing, electronics, electrical insulation and other high-temperature applications.

Made from polyimide film with silicone adhesive, the tape combines heat resistance, electrical insulation, chemical resistance and good dimensional stability.

What Is Polyimide Tape?

Polyimide tape is a thin adhesive tape designed for applications where standard masking tape cannot withstand high temperatures.

The amber polyimide film provides a stable backing, while the silicone adhesive provides reliable adhesion during high-temperature processing.

Depending on the application, polyimide tape can be supplied in different thicknesses, widths and roll lengths. Our standard product range supports 0.03–0.3 mm thickness, 2–1000 mm width and 33 m or customized lengths.

1. PCB & Gold Finger Masking

Gold finger tape is commonly used to protect PCB gold fingers, contacts and other areas during soldering and high-temperature processing.

2. Electrical Insulation

Polyimide tape is also used as a high temperature electrical insulation tape for transformers, motors, coils, wires and electronic components.

3. High-Temperature Masking

Polyimide tape can be used for high-temperature masking in processes such as:

It is especially useful when the masking material needs to remain stable during heating.
